The warm waters around Zanzibar teem with life. The Mnemba atoll, off the northeast coast near Matemwe, is the star — a protected reef of turtles, dolphins and clouds of tropical fish.
Snorkellers and divers of all levels are well served, with calm conditions and excellent visibility for much of the year.
Boat trips also run to sandbanks and to Kizimkazi for dolphin encounters along the southern coast.
